Christmas 2014 in Palma


This last weekend the Christmas lights in Palma were switched on.  Trees have been swathed in white lights and canopies looking like spiders´ webs have been spun across the main promenades.  A beautiful spectacle.

DECEMBER
  • Christmas and Three Kings Fair in Palma with markets at the Plaza Major, Ramblas, Via Roma and Plaza España. Opens from 10am to 9pm Monday to Sunday. Runs until 6 January 2015.

  • Bon Gust Fair. This fair takes over the well known Baleart fair that last took place in December 2010 where arts and crafts, local products and Christmas products were on display. WEDNESDAY 31 DECEMBER
  • Festival of the Standard. At 10.15am the royal standard and the helmet of King Martin will be placed in Plaza Cort with full military honours. At 10.30am a special mass will be held at Palma's Cathedral. At 12pm, their will be a reading by the epic poem La Colcada by Pere d'Alcàntara Penya (1823-1906) by Miquelina Lladó who will be surrounded the Majorcan School of Music and Dance at Palma's Plaza Cort.
